Usable by everyone, under stress.
In an emergency product, accessibility is a safety feature. Here is what we aim for, what we have done and what isn’t finished.
Draft version · last updated 12 October 2026
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the website and the apps.
What we have built in
- Large controls: buttons at least 44 pixels tall, and much larger emergency buttons.
- Labels for screen readers on buttons, icons and status messages.
- A “skip to content” link and full keyboard use, with a clearly visible focus outline.
- Statuses written out in words, never shown by colour alone.
- Support for larger text, zoom and reduced motion.
- High-contrast colours on emergency controls, and plain, short sentences.
What isn’t finished
This is a preview. We have not yet completed an independent accessibility audit or testing with VoiceOver and TalkBack users. Maltese translation is in progress, so some text may still appear in English.
Report a problem
If something is hard to use, tell us through the contact form. Tell us the page, your device and any assistive technology you use. We will fix what we can and tell you what we did.
If you’re not satisfied
You can use our complaints process. You may also contact Malta’s Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD).
Be ready before you need it.
Set up your trusted contacts and emergency profile in the app preview. In an emergency, call 112 first.
