Emergency SOS

One hold. Clear next steps.

SOS is a button in the aid.mt app. It starts an alert, offers you 112 and tells the people you chose. It does not call an ambulance for you.

Call 112 now — don’t use SOS first — if someone is unconscious or not breathing normally, has chest pain or signs of a stroke, is bleeding heavily, or if there is fire, a crash or violence.
What SOS does

What happens when you hold SOS.

  • Offers 112 straight awayThe first thing you see is a large Call 112 button.
  • Records when and whereIt notes the time, and your location if you allow it. No location? Type the address, floor and how to get in.
  • Tells your trusted contactsThey get your name, the time and — if you allow it — your location. During the preview this is simulated.
  • Keeps an honest statusYou see each step in words: searching, accepted, or no one available.
  • Lets you cancelOne tap ends the alert and stops location sharing.

What SOS does not do

  • It does not call 112 for you — you make that call.
  • It does not send an ambulance, the police or the fire service.
  • It does not give medical advice or decide how serious it is.
  • It does not promise that anyone will come, or when.
  • During the preview, it does not reach any real responder or contact.
Built for stress

Made for shaking hands.

In an emergency, people miss small buttons and skip long text. So we don’t use them.

Hold, don’t tap

A short hold stops alerts from pockets and bags. Call 112 never needs a hold.

Big and readable

Large targets, high contrast and plain words. Status is always written out, never shown by colour alone.

112 doesn’t depend on us

Call 112 opens your phone’s dialler. It works even if our servers or your data connection are down.

False alarms

Pressed it by mistake?

Cancel it

Cancel from the alert screen. Your contacts are told it is cancelled and location sharing stops.

Mark it as a false alarm

This helps us improve. Nobody is penalised for an honest mistake.

Still need help?

Cancelling never stops you calling 112. If you are unsure, call.

Be ready before you need it.

Set up your trusted contacts and emergency profile in the app preview. In an emergency, call 112 first.
